N Space Tech: Helping Traverse Space Technology Intelligently & Affordably

For ones interested in space technology, there are constant endeavors to learn more about it and for that, a continuous path of discovery is necessary. N Space Tech, is such a startup that is built on enabling innovation, and democratizing space by building modular and small satellite technologies. While still new in this space, it has already made headway in creating CubeSats which can be launched with the help of a sounding rocket and can reach up to 100 kilometers.

This enables stratospheric monitoring and also gets useful, vital data from the Ionosphere. Contrary to conventional large satellites, CubeSats can be built much more easily and only need a fraction of the cost for manufacturing and launching. Their first CubeSat model, named ‘LakshyaSAT’ was launched recently on 15th March, 2022, with the aid of a high-altitude balloon, reaching an altitude of 26 km in the UK. The launch was a success and the payload efficiently captured three hours of data on the many parameters of the stratosphere.

However, N Space Tech is also driven by the need to spark the interest in space technology in children as well. As we all know, the germination of such interests needs to start early. According to Divya Kurapati, Founder and Director of N Space Tech – "Children are our future and we need to ignite young minds with what space technology can do and hence, we are committed to liaise with universities and high schools, and show them how they can also be a part of launching their own payloads and gather very interesting data for study. And with us, they can do it very affordably".
Located in a small town in Tenali, India, N Space Tech has already created a small student group where various subsystems have been assigned to students, teaching them how all these work in practical terms. Inspiration remains the main goal behind this objective where students can learn about electronics, programming, material designing with Pico Satellite.

To ensure that affordability does not become an issue, N Space Tech has kept its offerings at a minimal price while offering a wide range of possibilities. Since most subsystems are being developed in-house, it has been able to offer competitive prices that do not come in the way of being utilized by the education sector.

Divya envisions growing opportunities in the space technology space, as more and more entrepreneurs are taking the leap owing to government support and open source technology. Additionally, an increasing number of educational institutions are also coming forward with their dreams of launching their own payloads to space - and soon, that will surely be a reality.
